Joeskidmoor - Single Hop 5.4%
Bottle opened with a nice hiss, and poured with medium carbonation. The best way to explain the colour is, think of Timothy Taylor's, landlord, a pale amber colour, and this thick soapy creamy white head! There is a slight haze to this beer, but that could be due to transportation.
On the nose, you get this wonderful tropical fruits, there is mangos, lycée, passion fruits, a little pineapple and some fresh white bread. This aroma is very appealing and I'm going to say it's a new world hop, something like Galaxy or Nelson.
On to the taste, and the first thing you get is this crisp citrus bitterness, that has a little black pepper and slight spice to it, then comes mango, peach, passion fruit and orange peel. There is a residual sweetness to this beer and biscuity notes.
The body on this beer is spot on, and give you a smooth oily mouthfeel. The head retention is great and there is lacing on the glass. Doesn't drink like its 5.4%.
This one I would like to drink again.

Re: Joeskidmoor - Single Hop 5.4%
Fantastic review, thank you!
You are correct with your guess of Nelson, I think it's one of those hops which is quite distinctive and has a lot of flavour compounds to work through. Finding it difficult to get more to re-brew! I split the batch after fermentation and dry hopped with another 100g Nelson...extreeeeeeeeemely cloudy that one.
Very basic recipe far9410:
23l brewlength
91% Maris Otter
4.5% Carapils
4.5% Crystal 150
30g Nelson leaf @ 60 min
30g Nelson leaf @ 5 min
40g Nelson leaf @ flameout and whirlpool at 100c for 30 mins
2xNottingham yeast
OG of 1.053 and 60 IBUs
