Review of Haz66's - Bannockburn IPA

The usual clear, well carbonated beer I've come to expect from Marks beers but this time with a copper tint to it; which is a first for me

The hop aroma is sublime with a nice rounded taste on the pallet that lingers then turns into a bitter sweet after taste; just what I love in an IPA.

By far the best I've tasted mate, a true winner there and one which I'd drink on a regular basis (hint hint ;) ); well done

Rick

Review of Rick Huggins - Summer Lightning

Ditto on the clear and well carbonated bit.
lovely Copper colour with a fruity aroma, couldn`t quite just put my finger on what fruit though but nice and fruity :D
The taste was a really nice malty with caramel taste, followed by a nice hint of hops and then a long malty finish.
A really nice beer this, could drink this as a session ale.

Another thumbs upfrom me mate, =D>

PS, Thanks for the above review of my IPA

Review of pdtnc`s - Uber Bluebird

Sorry i couldn`t remember when i was supossed to be ready but thought it must be somewhere near, so cracked it open :D .

Once in the glass this had a really nice dark copper colour and plenty of carbonation.
The aroma was more of a malty one with a hint of the hops.
The taste was a real pleasure, buscuity caramel start with an almost elderberry/fruity middle with a spicey note
and a darker malt finish, not sure what it was maybe amber ? it was almost a roasted nutty taste.

This seemed a lot darker than the real Bluebird but the taste of the hops seemed to me almost spot on
10 out of 10 for this one, cracking little beer =D>

Thanks mate... Glad you liked it :) :)
I'm just having a pint of the same now, its matured up earlier than I thought, really it needs another week or so... but its tasting blooming good already!
I'm so glad I made this as a 23L batch and not my usual 12L.

Brewed 26th Sept, Bottled 6th Oct, so should really be at least 3rd Nov before cracking into it... Oops!!! :D

Úber Bluebird = Munich Blauer Vogel ;)

Haz66's Hop Stock & Two Firkin barrels

Clean Crisp, well carbonated.. I'm guessing the Saaz went in very late with the aroma, the Bobek & Boadicea are coming through well on the flavour, a good balanced bitterness which stays on the pallet and diminishes like Challenger. A good complex bitter :)

Good work there Mark :)

You are too kind :D
If i was reviewing this beer i would say it has a blood curdling bitter finish, well for my taste, plus with being a smoker i dont have the best
taste buds, as all i got was the bobek, so its nice to hear what other people taste in my beers.
When my next lot are ready (ish) i`ll pop some over to you, or you are quite welcome along with Emma to pop over and have a beer night in Barlick, i can
put you up so no need to worry about getting home :D

Review of pdtnc - Otter Dark Stout

This is pitch black in the glass, darker than a polititians past :D
The first few mouthfulls are a massive roasted malt taste, with a hint of hops (taste like Styrian to me ?)
in the middle and a nice liquorice finish.
But after a few more mouthfulls the roasted malt taste subsides to let more of the hops to come through,
i can only compare this to Guiness as i`m not really a stout drinker, but this to me is better than Guiness, it
seems to have a more complex hop thing going on than Guiness.
This for a stout is probably one of the best ones i`ve tasted.

Absolute tip top work there Ade

Haz66's Hop Stock & Two Firkin barrels

Best one yet mate; I thought it came across much like white shield (my fav) so to say I really enjoyed this one would be an understatement.
The carb & clarity were as usual spot on but the aromas & bittering were pure winners.

Really well done there mate! =D>

Review of Rick Huggins - Snaggletooth Ale (2 months later)

Same as before but the Elderflower as definately mellowed over time,
This was not just as sweet as it was 2 months ago, but i think its aged very well,
i really enjoyed this last night, top effort. =D>

PS Thanks for the above review, but i`ll probably never make it again as i was using up hops
i`d had hanging around for a while, but then again you never know. :D

Autumn Gold by Jim

I'm not entirely sure, but is it Goldings and Challenger? Really easy drinking, clear and crisp, good but not over carbonated.

Very nice pint :) Cheers for the beers.

Glad you enjoyed it. :=P Actually I'm surprised it cleared so quick after the Royal Mail got their hands on it.

The bittering and late hops were Progress, but 30g of Goldings went in on switch off.

I may be sampling one of yours tonight. 8)

Thanks to pdtnc for sending me a botlle of his JBK Anniversary brew, which I sampled last night. 8)

Image

This brew was clear and dark, with an earthy, almost chocolatey aroma. Lightly carbonated and clean and light on the tongue with a smooth, dry, flavour from the dark malt and a lovely intense hoppiness that lasted well after the pint was gone!

Very nice.

The only thing that spoils it is he's put a picture of some right ugly bugger on the label for some reason.

Review of pdtnc - Nasty Barsteward.

Very nice and dark in the glass and nicely carbonated,i couldn`t pin the
aroma down but would say a bit chocolatey.
A very hoppy start, with a big Malty middle, and a bitter finish
followed by a strong dark malt flavour, very nice in the mouth
and a very good balance of malts and hops, really enjoyed this one.
=D>

I to never thought about taking a pic of the pints before i tested them, and now
it seems so obvious #-o , oh well next time i`ll try and remember.
