Joeskidmoor - Hoppiness 6.6%
Bottles opened with a big hiss, and some light smokiness out the top of the bottle. It poured with medium to high carbonation. The colour was a burnt orange colour, with a golden hue. It was clear until the yeast went in with it. It had a wounderful light yellow head, that is tightly packed bubbles and shimmers with the light.
On the nose, you get that fresh hoppy aroma that comes with simcoe, there is perfume and pine, then a sweet malt backbone, with cinder toffee notes to it.
On to the flavour, there is a big hoppy bite to it, that has a crisp citrus bite. Then there is some pink grapefruit, a touch of pine, resign notes, then this wounderful sweet malty flavour, that finishes up with a wheat note.
This is a chewy beer, full bodied, a little oily on the palate. It's well balanced, and you don't get any heat from the alcohol. It's very drinkable. Great lacing and head retention, and the carbonation is at an acceptable level.
Well done to the brewer.
