Planck Length Brewery - Heliopause 5.2%

Pours a dark chestnut colour with a pale brown fluffy head. The carbonation was spot on for a scotch ale, with a medium to thin body. Firstly from the malts I get a sweet caramel taste that mellows in to a roasty chocolatey taste. For me the cascade hop really shows in the brew over the noble English hops, however I do get a late earthy/floral addition. There is also a dryness in the mouth afterwards.

The Kitchen Inn - Crapulence 4.8%

Pours a lovely amber colour with a slight protein haze after choking. Nice white head with a good amount of lacing on the glass. Low carbonation with a medium body. From the malts I'm getting a mild toffee note which gives it an almost unique flavour. The bitterness seems to come from a centennial type of with a nice crisp citrus taste, with a hint of apricot of all things. You would not guess this came from a kit at all. Nice, smooth & refreshing

Oli1979 - Screaming Monkey IPA 6.7%

Pours a cloudy orange/light brown colour, with a fabulous fluffy white head, that sticks to the glass the whole way down. It reminds me of marshmallows. The carbonation was spot on for me, with chewy medium body. From the malts I get a slight biscuit taste, because the flavour/hops mask out the malts. The taste, oh my!!! This is my ideal type of IPA, full of fresh hoppness! I'm getting crisp fresh cut grass and pine, then follows a rather nice mixture of lemons & lime zest, then comes a lovely floral note. The high alcohol content does not show for this drink, although after a few i bet you can feel it.
This is a quality ale, that I would happily pay for in a pub.

Just like to add the label is fantastic, it looks like its been hand drawn.

Can I be cheeky and ask for another one Oli1979? It's by far one of the best home brewed ipa's I've had in a while. Well done that man!

The Kitch Inn - Orange you glad I brewed this... 4.5%

Pours a mid orange colour, which is hazy, with a off white head. Good carbonation & medium body. Some lacing on the glass.
There is a wheat ish taste from the malts. The flavour is a very fresh orange flavour with a mild spicey note.

nice fizz on opening - a bit of a gusher to be honest but that could be down to my handling of the bottles***

nicely carbonated but the head didn't last, no lacing - although that could be down to my glass having just come out of the dishwasher. Lovely orange-red amber colour, nice & clear.
Big hit of cinnamon & cloves both on the nose and the tongue, possibly some ginger in there too, masking pretty much everything else. This is definitely an autumn/winter warmer, ideally supped beside a nice roaring fire. Or by a bonfire with a nice slab of good old Yorkshire Parkin

Lovely beer, whoever brewed it please own up! Your labels are a wee bit basic...


*** five metres before I got my bottles back to the car, the bottom of one of the cardboard carriers decided it had had enough and promptly gave way, depositing all six bottles onto the middle of Queen Street, Morley. 3 of them didn't survive the ordeal

Armchair Porter

Pours a thick black with a generous butterscotch head. Aroma promises all kinds of toasty, fruity goodness. Quite sweet on the nose, then that roastiness delivers. Very rich, all kinds of stuff going off in there, treacle, liquorice, coffee, burnt toast. There's a but of heat at the back of the throat as that 7.5% gives your nose a tweak! This beer is right up my street, and for me is one of the best I've received at Morley. Top job Simon!

Drumhead Brewery - Scammonden Dark
Lovely drink! Impressive for a kit! Big caramel taste to it with velvet mouth feel. Lots of body but maybe overcarbonated. Massive 4 inch head but didn't take away from this nice drink. Cheers John.

Whitely Brewery - Red Grouse Bitter 4.3%

Pours a cracking mid brown colour, with a whisp white head. This is as clear as it can be for the shade of brown it is, minimal haze. The carbonation is good for a bitter, however the body and mouthfeel is a little thin for me. From the malts I'm getting a mild coffee & a sweetness of caramel. There is some black malt in this brew, and it's balanced nicely with the hop flavour. There is a nice fresh bread taste, and a good earthy woody flour complimented by a smooth finish.

Again, we'll done on this, it's another solid beer and a nice one to have on the portfolio

I love doing these bottle swaps, because I enjoy the feedback from other people.

there are 20 odd more bottles where that came from I'm really not keen on it. Glad somebody liked it

The Kitch Inn - Pistol Pilsner 5%

Pours a nice clear light amber colour with a small loose white head, that doesn't seem to last. For me Andy, this is slightly under carbonated for a pilsner and is missing this fizzy mouth feel.
I'm get a sweet toffee and slight biscuit malt backbone. The flavour is a fresh citrus orange work a hint of candy, the parm violet type.

To be honest this was not my cup of tea. But I'm sure it can be enjoyed by others

Planck Length Brewery - Quaser 4.7%

Pours a cracking golden colour, with a loosely packed off white head, good lacing and a very good body. This is a smooth mix of hops and malts, has a nice orange fresh citrus smell with a hint of bread. On the tongue I get a mixture of tropical fruits and citrus fruits like orange and mild limes, which mellows out to a grassiness that's gets you at the back of the palate. Very complex and fresh tasting!

Keep up the good work nick, this is a tasty ale

Whitley Brewery - Night Badger 5.7%

Pours a jet black colour, with a wisp off white head. Little low on carbonation but a fantastic mouth feel with a just over medium body. Minimal lacing. There is a sweetness of toffee & fresh bread. The flavour is a complex mix of fresh citrus fruits, with a lingering pine needle and grassy taste and suttee mild fruits.

Keep up the good work, this was my first black IPA Homebrew by the way

Planck Length Brewery - Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle 4.5%

Pours a deep black colour that doesn't let any light thought. It has a small loosely packed head, which is chocolate brown in colour. The is a little low, but this is a young bottled stout. There is a smooth silky body, which is derived from the oats. On the nose you get a roasty chocolate smell which is typical of many stouts.
From the malts I'm getting a roast burnt toast flavour, followed my a mild chocolate taste. There is a lovely molasses & black treacle flavour, with liquorice hint, and there is a supple after taste of ginger, which goes down nicely.
