Blackout Stout Brewed by Monkeybrew. 8.5%ABV Bottled 24/04/12 Yes 2012!
There are only 2 bottles of this Stout left in the world!
My Dad and myself had the greatest of pleasure / honour to sample this legendary Stout today.
Great hiss on opening the bottle, pours nicely with a tight dark brown head. Smells chocolate, malty.
Tastes Awesome! Tiny bubbles tingle on the lips giving way to a massive Choco taste which lingers delicately on the back of the mouth!
2nd sup, Mmmmm there`s something burnt in there, can`t really say, then Dad (from Yorkshire) says `It`s Nutty! We used to drink Nutty Brown back up in
Cudworth, and this is it!`. Cheeks burning after 2 Sups, this stuff is a great Winter Warmer.
Well Done Monkey!

Howzat 4.8% :- The Kitch Inn

Aroma: Biscuit and Citrus
Carbonation: Lots of carbonation in the bottle, fizzy mouthfeel.
Flavour: Orange and wheat, bitter orange peel taste.
Bitterness: Mouthfull of bitterness that lingers on.
Notes: Doesn't drink like a 4.8%, doesn't taste that strong! Dry finish which leaves you wanting more.

Four finger jack 5.6%:- Drumhead Brewery
Appearance: Whispy white head, clear pale yellow/ orange colour.
Aroma: Citrus
Flavour: Alcoholic (almost whiskey like) lager, crisp beer.
Carbonation: About right for this style, On the high side but for me its spot on.
You can defenetly tell its a high alcohol content beer. But not a bad pint.

C IPA - Unknown Brewery
Good hiss to open, no head but pleasantly carbed light golden ale. Zesty fruit salad aroma promises refreshment. Zesty fruit on the nose with a light sweet malt backdrop. The fruit salad mingled with a solid bitterness gives a nice refreshing aftertaste. Nice pint.

Black dog brews Homebrew, SNPA clone, not bad at all. #Barry44 by

Barry44's SNPA clone, not bad mate
maybe keep an eye on the fermentation's upper temperature and give the yeast time to do its clean-up job after FG is reached by chilling to 17c for 24 hours or so, nice going for the 5th Homebrew
It goes particularly well with the Home made Coleslaw we just made

Thanks very much for your kind words and your observations.
Can you explain what is present in the finished product that made you comment as you did as this would be very helpful to me going forward? Was it a specific taste? The fact that is isn't too clear?
Any advice is gratefully received.
Once again, thanks for taking the time and reviewing.

Just a bit of diacetyl, the butterscotch type taste, a little on the nose then more on the taste... nothing to stop me finishing the pint like
Do you have a brewday thread for it?

diacetyl is a bi-product of fermentation, the yeast reabsorbs this at the end.
At work we do a diacetyl-rest so when the beer reaches our chill-gravity we chill it to 17c for 24 hours then down to 13c for a further 24 hours before moving the beer to conditioning tanks.

Badger's Revenge - Oli1979
Quite high carbonation; got half a pint of beer and half of head! Really dark colour with ruby highlights. Magic fruity aroma, smells really refreshing. Fruit on the nose is quickly joined by a sweet sticky malt flavour and a bit of alcoholic heat on the tongue and the back of the throat. Strong bitterness comes through, and is joined by a delicious blend of fruity hop flavours. Cracking pint.

Red Head Irish Ale - Joanne's Garage Brewery (can't remember the username for this one!)
Lightly carbed with a lovely colour that's on the border between deep copper and ruby. Earthy aroma with hints of red fruit. Dry and malty on the nose with a delicate fruitiness. Gentle bitterness comes through and compliments the slightly nutty malt perfectly. Nice pint, and a style I enjoy but don't see too often.

Proper Job 4.3%
Drumhead Brewery
Pours a clear amber colour, looks fizzy but little to no head.
On the nose: fruits and watermelon.
Tastes bitter and fruity: wow a really lovely pint, fizzy and hoppy.
If it had a good fluffy white head, this beer would be near perfect!
I'd give it a 9/10 though: Exellent.
