Yeast starter question

Post by neilrh » Sun May 13, 2018 12:44 pm

Hi,

My Wyeast 1099 smack pack was 3 months old so it took longer than usual to swell (about 10 hours).

I pitched it into my starter and after 24 hours there's about 10 mm of krausen and is actively fermenting, but no yeast deposit.

My question, is it ok to leave it for another 24 hours before pitching.

Thank you

McMullan

Leave it for another 48h. If it's on a stir plate, that is. Longer if it's not. Then put it in the fridge until brew day. Use within 3-5 days.
