Gravity reading
Gravity reading
Took gravity on 13/02/21 12 days after being in the fv at 19c, on a coopers mexican lager, and the hydrometer teld 1.015. On 14/02/21 turned fv up to 21c reading someware to help finish of fermentation and took next gravity reading on 15/02/21 expecting to bottle beer strait away only to find gravity at1.022, so checked hydrometer in tepid water for calibration and all seams right. Is this unusual and should I bottle now or wait longer, have set fv back to 19c. Any help please?

Re: Gravity reading
The gravity cannot have gone up, unless something was added to the beer so something is off.
You can always leave it another couple of days and take another reading.
If testing the hydrometer in water, ensure that you measure the actual temperature and check against what yours is set up for.

Re: Gravity reading
Bottled lager on 17/02/21, first filled a trial jar and checked it was 1.022. After bottling lager the likes of an hour or towards shecked again at 1.015 maybe i've just got a slow hydrometer.
Re: Gravity reading
9 or 10 weeks ago since bottling larger onto cooper PET 500ml bottels and only now showing sighns of a firm carbonation in bottles, is this normal. Tried one two weeks into bottling and it was flat and awfull, does this mean I could try anouther one now or should I wait some more time before trying anouther bottle?
