As in the title - Anyone know where a female npt -> hose tail is in stock for riptide pump
is in stock

Or alternatively female 1/2" npt -> 1.5" triclamp

I'm looking to buy these in the UK, I ordered a 1/2" npt -> 1.5" triclamp, but I don't think i'll get it for a bit now

You are fine screwing male NPT (1/2 inch) into female BSP(P). There are very slight differences in thread-form but a few turns of PTFE tape (which you'd probably use anyway?) will sort that out.

Cheers, I have heard it's possible to do that, but I was worried there may be a risk of damaging
the thread, but I could be being overly cautious?

1/2" male NPT should go easily into 1/2" female BSP (BSPP or parallel, BSPT or taper is rare for female threads and then often designated Rc). 3/4" should also work (I've not tried) because these sizes in both forms share the same pitch (14 threads per inch). It should be a bit graunchy as NPT threads have an angle of 60° and BSP 55°, but I've never noticed any graunchiness and it probably falls within the tolerances. Likewise peaks and troughs on NPT are square, BSP are rounded, but this never poses an issue. NPT is a tapered thread so will bind eventually but again, not an issue. The differences do mean you must not mix the threads for high pressure situations, but all brewing applications are low pressure.

Remember this only applies to 1/2" threads, and perhaps 3/4" threads. And I'm not sure about female NPT and male BSPP or BSPT (i.e. the other way around).

And! …

No-one picked me up on this, but I posted the wrong fitting! Try this, its often cheaper through this bunch (on P&P) but these female BSP to hosetail work do out a bit more! Sorry!
