Raising Alkalinity?

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Raising Alkalinity?

At the end of my mash my ph looks about 4.9. That's with 90% Pale MO, and 10% 40L Crystal.

What should I do to get closer to ph5.3? Although the beer tastes good IMHO so should I bother?......efficiency is OK at 75%. :?:

No water treatment other than a crushed campden tab.
Am testing with ph strips

This was the one before last and although the picture isn't good it looks the same as todays one (same recipe) and it is closest to 4.9 I think.

Hey I'm happy to do nothing, really I am :lol:
