Sodium Metabisulphite

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Will adding SM to the finished beer when kegging stop any infections [has a precaution] if so what amount do you add.

Hi Chris, Thanks for the email, just recently been having a slight bit of trouble with infections i have been reading one Graham Wheelers books and in a chapter about finishing he says adding some SM can fight off some infections thats if i have read it correctly.

Yes thanks for that chris, I do work hard on hygenie my wife thinks i do go OTT sometimes with it but you cant be to careful.I use the same sanitizers on all my post boil equipment and the same methods and at this time of the year its hard to see where any bugs could come from.
