Gypsum/Plaster of Paris?

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Are they one and the same? Can I chuck a tsp of PoP in my liquor?

Cheers

Chemically Plaster of Paris is Gypsum that's been heated to drive out some of the water. If it was pure I wouldn't have a problem using it but are you certain what you have doesn't have any additives/is remotely food-grade?

Not even slightly certain - I don't think I'll risk it... I'll save my first foray into water treatment till next time.
