reverse osmosis water

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Post by sam c » Mon Jun 15, 2009 10:22 am

i havent been able to find my total alkalinity from thames water and am probably gonna buy a kit to test it myself. however i think i have another option.

my brother inlaw keeps fish and i am able to get reverse osmosis water off him. if using this is there a set amount of CRS, gypsum and camden tablets that need to be used?

They are easy to use, Been keeping Fish for a long time and if they were not easy...

If you have the Salifert kit then it very easy and precise.

got the kit, tested the water!

came out at 4.85 meq/l. so multipled by 50 is 245.5.

now to follow the water treatment guide

im confused again now.

are you suggesting do the test a few times to get some sort of mean average?

or do the test in half the quantities like sugested in the badly worded instructions?

oh and i will be using CRS to treat the water
