Britain's 'best' tap waters named

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Britain's 'best' tap waters named

Water supplied by Severn Trent has been named Britain's best tasting tap water by a panel of food and drink experts.
Must say the drinking water where I live near stratford upon avon tastes so much fresher and nicer that the water of North London.

My Brews in the Midlands are so much better than when I lived in London....could the Midlands water really make this much difference?

Whats your water like?

Our water is very soft here in Cornwall. Means your shampoo lasts much longer!
It is chlorinated quite noticeably though this varies anyhow. It makes lovely golden summer ales, I'm on my third brew doing this type in a week.
Previously we lived in St Albans where the kettle looked grim all the time, caked in lime. yuck.

I'm in north london and I've always been surprised that it tastes so good .. not even a high chlorine taste. I notice we came 3rd too!

I'm Not supprised ST's water sample won, I bet the water was drawn from a secluded source in Mid Wales, fed from remote mountain streams.

I suppose. Truth be told, I prefer the hard water here to drink, compared say to what you get in central London. Plus the RCH Brewery is only a few miles from me. Around 45ml of CRS + teaspoon of gypsum sees me right.
