Salifert test

Salifert test

Post by FatGaz » Mon May 14, 2012 5:44 pm

Got myself a Salifert KH Test Kit recently. Did the test today, ended up emptying the whole 1ml syringe into the blue water, but it stayed blue throughout??? Any ideas anyone?

Try the 2 drop/2ml test rather than the 4 drop/4ml test
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget

I just remembered, I got a test solution (known pH) with my kit. If you also got one, try that to make sure you get the expected result. If so, you're doing the test right plus your kit isn't faulty so you just have high carbonate.

turns out my water was so hard that when I used the normal dose nothing happened, had to use the 2 drop then double the figure.
