Still Valid for the 21st Century?

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Anyone used this in their brewday? I remember reading about it in those yellowing paged books that I find here and there that mention Bread yeast to be used or marmite on upturned browm bread,

I know i will but not sure for what, might put it in a light zesty wheat to fool the senses.

Well, it's just caramel for browning a light stock/gravy, why bother, as it was only used by cheap skate breweries who didn't want to use expensive malt to get a good colour? Wasn't it?
