PH strips

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Just mashed in and after 10 minutes got this reading. Are these strips accurate?

Not bad I've used the in labs and on plant many many times but they are no substitute for s properly calibrated pH metre.

I've just purchased some of those strips myself. I compared them against my usual strips and they seemed ok.

What temperature was the wort at each reading? I think strips are only accurate at room temp.

The strip is the same one in both pictures. I took some of the mash out with a teaspoon and let it cool a wgile before taking the reading.
