(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Eric, I like your idea of mixing both waters to produce a dark beer. Whenever I get around to it that is. However, i don't have any information on the other minerals present in the borehole water so i'd be flying blind so to speak.
You could send a sample off to Murphy's for analysis. It will give you the important elements such as Calcium, Magnesium and Chloride, (and indeed alkalinity). My guess is that the Calcium will be rather high too. You could use that water in various mixes with your tap water to brew pretty well any style you like
