Additions for a Stout - Help!!

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

That's good to hear, well done. Are you able to provide details of the liquor profiles of your mash and sparge?

Eric,

my finished levels were as follows:

Calcium - 100.6
Magnesium - 19.5
Sodium - 18.8
Sulphate - 81.6
Chloride - 165.2
Bicarbonate - 118.2

Cations - 7.4
Anions - 8.3

I used Bru n Water and based the profile on the black bitter profile but increased the calcium and chloride as suggested on the thread.

Splendid.
Suggest you keep tasting notes and maybe next stout contemplate even more chloride.
Happy brewing.
