They were accurate, but the last kit I bought was miles off.
I bought the Hanna meter and it was within 10ppm of the water report I’d previously received.
Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast, Seaweed, Blood, Sweat, The swim bladder of a sturgeon, My enemies tears, Scenes of mild peril, An otter's handbag and Riboflavin.

Doesn't say much for my pool strips then.
But how accurate do you need to be? I did the math to 2 decimal places in Excel and then rounded it up to the nearest ml because of the syringe - never thought to use the burette.

What is the alkalinity of your water Jocky, how far was it out from the analysis? My test kit consistently measures between 10 and 15.

Yes - according to my Salifert test kit. That does tie in with the low values of all the other important minerals, it is very soft our water.

The first salifert kit I had was pretty much bang on. The second one measured it as around 230ppm. From memory the last one I got was measuring it as 160-180ppm!
The acid solution provided in the last kit was considerably weaker then the previous one, the reagent seemed to be the same.
