(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

If your water comes from the Mythe I got the following information from Severn Trent a couple of years ago.

Severn Trent..Cheltenham South...Water Supply Zone ZGL09
I live near Stroud with a GL10 post code so hope they can be of use to anyone else in the area.

These figures are in response to my email.

"We have been able to identify the following results, which give the average figures expected. This analysis is carried out at our Mythe water treatment works, which supplies the area."

Alkalinity as CaCO3 124mg/l
Alkalinity as HCO3 151mg/l
Hardness Total 216mg/l
Hardness as MgCO3 57mg/l
Hardness as CaCO3 160mg/l
Calcium 64mg/l
Magnesium 14mg/l
Sodium 41mg/l
Sulphate 71mg/l
Chloride 56mg/l

Please note that we do not measure alkalinity as CO3, or Carbonate

That's the problem for me. Can I suggest you get a report from Murphy's. There is no substitute for accuracy if you want to get into this seriously.
