Water in NE Hampshire

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Water in NE Hampshire

Totally no joy getting any info out of the water board. I notice theres a few brewers in my area and wondered if anyone could take an educated guess at the total alkalinity in Bordon.

I've been told our water is drawn up through bore holes in chalk that'll no doubt make it harder than a coffin nail!

As a footnote. The only chart I have for water treatment is in Dave Lines book. This expresses hardness in ppm in either HC03 or CaC03 (I cant remember which). Is there any kind of conversion needed for the readings I'll get from an aquatic tester?
