Salifert Kit Question

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Salifert Kit Question

Hi,

I recently purchased a Salifert KH/Alkalinity kit and carried out a test to the instructions and also the video on YouTube.

My water test gave me a result of 248mg/l CaCO3.

According to Anglian water they confirm that my total Alkilinity when last tested was 330mg/l CaCO3, this seems to be a huge difference, I guess I should rely on the test kit for an accurate reading?

Also with the kit there was a "free reference /check solution included can anyone explain it's function please?
