(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

hi i am relatively new to all this and i have thought about the water quality. Last time i made a brew i just brought some bottled water thinking this would have been treated and would be cool for brewing. Am i wrong should i still of at least boiled this water. Should i just treat my tap water and if so how do i know what it needs, what's good water, what's bad water. I am only a kit brewer do i need to even worry about my water. I am starting to feel a little panicked could i please have some guidence. One idea i had was to go to my local brewery and ask them for some liquor would they be accommodating .

Cheers for any help :)

Im far from an expert like some of the guys on here....... but until one arrives I believe that you only need to crush a campden tablet in with your water as you are only kit brewing and need to drive the chlorine from the water to avoid a TCP like taste in the finished beer.
