Hardness expressed as calcium

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Hardness expressed as calcium

In the severn trent water quality report there is a item for hardness then in brackets total then as calcium. Am I right in assuming that this is not all calcium but it also includes other hardness such as magnesium expressed as calcium.If so what else is included as hardness as well as calcium and magnesium.I don't seem to be able to reconcile the calcium(as ion)60, magnesium (as ion) 12 with the hardness 87
