Thames Water - Online Report

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

I did fine skeleton in my boiler after my last brew :!: looked like it may have been a kitten

Seriously though I've not noticed any difference from before I started using it, nothing that the old citric clean didn't remove :D

North west water provider also gives info with regard to water analyisis, which is via entering a post code.
The water upnorth is soft (39 mg Ca/l) I have always gone along with a standard water treatment of adding calcium carbonate, and magnesium sulphate as per wheelers book regardless of the beer type being brewed.

The brews always turn out fine, am I wasting time carrying out this water treatment with the water type, especially with regard the additional time and gas used the night before brewing.

Always interested in trying to improve the time spent brewing (less ear ache from the wife).

Look forward to your views
