AMS - CRS

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

I seem to recall these are the same thing. If so, can I mix them in the same bottle?

They are the same and as far as I am aware CRS is repackaged AMS.

For reference... CBA Factsheet No 1 Water Treatment

"Murphy’s ‘AMS’ is a liquid blend of inorganic acids that help reduce the level of alkalinity (carbonate) without the
need to boil the liquor. It is widely used in large, medium and micro breweries and Brupaks call it ‘Carbonate
Reduction Solution’ or ‘CRS’.

The other product is Murphy’s ‘DWB’, a dry mixture of salts designed to increase calcium and other ion levels and also reduce the pH of the mash. Brupaks call this ‘Dry Liquor Salts’ or ‘DLS’.
