East Yorkshire Wolds

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Anyone else brewing in the East Yorkshire Wolds near Market Weighton?
just moved here from the centre of York and the water tastes very different. Most noticeable it dosent make great tea and the glass of water on my bed side has a medicinal taste to it the next morning! I'll get the water report and see what the distinct differences are, but I just wondered if there was any one else out this way that might know what's going on.

Sounds like you need a Salifert alkalinity test kit from e-bay. Then look at Information water treatment on the Brupacks site at CRS and DLS for dosage.
Good luck

Sancton (Hi Neighbour)
Actually I've changed my mind on this since I first posted.
The house had stood empty for the best part of a year before we moved in, I think we just needed to pull a bit of fresh water through the pipes. its tasting pretty good now. And as for making bad tea I think that was something to do with a new plastic kettle.
What sort of water treatment are you using? and what sort of beer have you been making?
