My water report

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

My water report

Says my water has 200mg/l Na. Seems a bit high to me. Is this within normal limits?

Also, does anyone in the Sutton and SE Surrey area know if its possible to get things like Magnesium and Sulphate reading out of them?

And finally, which Salifert kit is the one to buy?

Many thanks!

My water report shows 2 mg/L for sodium, so yours looks quite high. The maximum permitted (PCV) is 200 mg/L according to my report, so you seem to be right at the top level. Just check that you're reading the right column - make sure it doesn't say PCV on the top!

Bingo, at the top it says "PCV or SCV" which is wonderfully useful!

Is it the Alkalinity Salifert kit that I need?
