I've been messing about with a spreadsheet to make designing a brew easy and to check recipes and modifications. I would be interested in views of its usefulness.
I will make the following comments before starting:
1) ITS STILL WORK IN PROGRESS
2) There are 2 calculators: 1 designing by percentage from a target original Gravity, and 1 from weight by adding KG of ingredients Existing inputs are obviously changed to suit
3) YOU ONLY NEED TO INPUT the yellow sections the calculations SHOULD? then happen. famous last words
4) The expected yields are shown so that they can be changed if yours are better/worse
5) Its easy to add additional adjucts/malts etc as desired
6) Have thought of adding a Grain moisture table?V
7) UK lbs/gallons and Kg/l (it would be easy to modify if required)
Work on the bitterness is for future rainy days
Two formats:
Microsolf Office xls = http://www.uklabelprinting.co.uk/calcul ... design.xls
Open Office ods = http://www.uklabelprinting.co.uk/calcul ... design.ods
Any use to anyone? Any suggestions? (other than 'get lost you loser and the like') Does it work? Is it easy to use. Any bugs or downright miss calculations
I'll build the baracades whilst I await responses
Roger

Re: Brew design
links now work. problem was in having a two word name. does open in android kingsoft office as well
Re: Brew design
.xls link works for me, and while I don't mean to be negative - I'm sure the spreadsheet suits your needs - it does not really offer anything interesting or useful for my own purposes.
I like to add grains by kg, not by %, so when I do that and enter the FG for the last beer I made, it tells me the ABV% will be 131265.8%
Most beers I make have more than 2 hop additions, let alone 2 hop varieties, and it seems that the bitterness calculations are not finished.
... but from a quick look I don't see that it offers anything (for my needs)that current free or paid brewing software does not.

Re: Brew design
I have corrected that problem but taken on board that it is of no interest to anyone
What software do you recommend

I didn't mean to say that it's "of no interest to anyone" simply that it does not do anything for me - I have my own spreadsheet(s) that I use because they fit what I need, I presume yours does what you need, which is what matters most.
As for software, Beer Engine (UK), Brewmate (AU), BeerSmith (USA) are some of the most popular home brewing recipe design programs that I can think of off the top of my head. They are more complicated but also more detailed than a spreadsheet - I would look to those and then create your own spreadsheet(s) if the available-software/programs/spreadsheets don't do what you need.
I use (the original/old version of) BeerSmith for recipe design, combined with a custom-spreadsheet(s) for brewing calculations/conversions/mash & brewing salt additions and (one from braukaiser.com) for detailed efficiency analysis.
