Salifert Test Kit for Alkalinity

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Salifert Test Kit for Alkalinity

Post by barneey » Wed Jun 19, 2013 4:28 pm

Just popped down to my local fish shop to buy a Salifert kit to test for Alkalinity.

They didnt have one on the shelves so enquired if they had any in stock, only to be told they are no longer manufactured, anyone else confirm this?

Cheers

There's no mention of them being discontinued on their wibbly web site - http://www.salifert.com/pt/kh.htm and there doesn't seem to be any shortage online. I think someone can't be arsed to restock.

As Naich has said they are still available on line, I just didnt want to pay postage for such a small item, I`ll give the local garden centre a try tomorrow.

Not sure if this is just coincidence but I tried to buy a kit in a pet shop in Maidstone where I've got the kit before but they no longer stock Salifert but they have the Tetra alkalinity test kits, before I go and waste my money has anyone tried these kits or know if they are suitable?.
