If you are in the market for a nice cheap one pot system.
This might be a good option.
25L Klarstein Mash n Boil. Switchable 1500w 3000w.
Includes a Malt pipe, Drip ring, Immersion cooler.
If you allow them to add you to there emailing list, you get a £10 discount.
I ordered one £199.99p delivered. Im looking forward to comparing to my BM.
I will report back.

It looks like its the same model sold in the US as a Brewer's Edge Mash N Boil.
UK/EU model has 1500w/ 3000w. US model is 110v and 1000w/1600w.

The first thing I notice is there is no RIMS, which is a significant draw back. No step Mash feature either, which is less significant.

Other versions of these systems have a recirculation pump

I thought it had a separate grain basket. Was I looking at the wrong picture? They're all called one pot systems, BM, GF whatever. As Soupdragon said, others in the Klarstein range do have RIMS, but not at £199

... it does have a grain basket included, it says "Removable filter bin for easy removal of the spent grain" under the list of Properties and Dimensions :? ... overall, what with the immersion chiller included, looks like a pretty nice package as an "off-the-shelf" BIAB setup for an AG new-starter, on a budget :?

Hi Norm
A word to the wise ... without recirculation, and with temp sensors on these pots often sited down at the base (near the heater) then the temp shown on the display (and being managed by the controller) can be a little out from the average temp of the grain in the bag/basket ... so you might want to monitor that by comparing the temperature of the mash in the basket, and the liquor outside the basket, and the temperature the device is the displaying :? ... back when I was BIAB-ing, I used to find the temperature my device thought it was, was consistently 2-3C higher than the actual temperature of the mash in the bag, over a 90 minute mash ... overall, not a problem, but you might find yourself having to remember to set the mash temperature to 68-69C (say) to get the Klarstein to maintain a mash-temp of 66C (or something similar) :?

Cheers, PhilB

Hi Phil

Yeah point taken,
And it’s the same for any system, to be sure of the actual temperature recirculate, or give it a stir.
Im always careful with new kit to measure temperature and stir the mash, Until im sure how kit works during a few brew days.

It does have a malt tube.

I didnt want a one with a pump, They do also sell quite a range with pumps, if thats your thing.
