all went well, got 18L @ 44 as I was batch sparging to save some time. I get ~75% when fly sparging and ~67% with batch sparge. Will have to adjust for this next time so I can have a bottle or two to put aside.

Son kept trying to put cobbles in the boiler as I was cooling but luckily I managed to keep him at bay.

Wadworth 6X

Ah yes... slightly off topic but I lived for a year in wiltshire... enjoyed the odd pint of 6X, (the commercial available sort) but i always seemed to get a head ache afterwards. I'm not asking for the obvious answer of "well what do you expect after a skin full dave?" but has anyone else experienced this.... i've only had it with 6X, and after a pint max i used to get a head ache.... is there some unique ingredient in it?

I'm slightly south of Devizes and I can't say I've noticed that effect...

I've heard rumors that it's the high proportion of invert sugar they use.
