Coopers Stout Kit

Bought a Cooper's Stout, a kilo of dark DME and some black treacle last night.

i also boiled 50g of Roast Barley with it based on a recipe i got off the net somewhere

How did that work out, did it boost the flavour? Did you just simmer the roast barley in some wort for a bit?

A mate of mine made some a couple of months ago with just the kit and dark malt and i found mine had a more of that coffee taste and was more bitter.
All i did was bring it to the boil in a litre of water for 10 minutes then added it to the wort.
