It's number six on the list, 'Trading Places: Beer and Bread Yeast'. The beer made from bread yeast apparently turned out quite drinkable.
Thanks...I will check the link in the morning (when a bit more sober!)
Basically for my previous 2 brews i have attempted, each time i have had zero action in the airlock....and i mean ZERO! Nothing at all.
The first one tasted a bit rank, but the 2nd (produced in a proper fermenter) was pretty tasty, and quite potent!
On this (my 3rd attempt) i have taken lots of advice gained from this forum, like putting the brewing yeast in 1/3 cup of water etc before adding to the wort etc...but still i left it for 10 hours yet nothing happened at all.....same as all previous attempts. I have added a small sprinkling of bread yeast and magically the thing is now bubbling like mad! Weird.
Hopefully still drinkable! (saying that i'll drink almost anything though!!)
