i haven't done TC before but that's exactly what i'm planning to do with my current 23L of TC that's in the fermenter.

i'll prime it with a litre or two of a carton of apple juice i left spare instead of sugar to add to the appley flavour

though saying that alot of TC'ers have drank their TC straight from the FV but i want mine to be bright and 100% sediment free before i chuck mine in a cornie to serve at my bar.

i dont think there will be any problems chucking it in a budget barrel. if you over prime it may hiss a bit and give you a foamy glass full, but for beer i just undo the lid slightly to let some air out and let it settle for a bit before attempting to pour another if i've accidentally over primed.

1 or 1 1/2 litres is probably all you need for 23L - you can get away with 2 but I would go any higher!

I recently made a 4L TC in a demijohn then primed with an extra litre before I bottled - now I have to open the bottles over the sink and pour quickly otherwise I lose half a pint each time in fizz!

MY next TC will be a 20L batch into a budget barrel.

Thank you Father Christmas.
