I'm back !
two little questions...
1. - I got left up the creek by easybrew who didnt have any crown cappers for me, but didnt tell me - so I ended up having to source one from ebay (which should arrive today) - this has meant my ipa has been in the wort for about 10 days, the gravity stuck at 1.010 about 5 days ago
Do you think it will still be ok ? should the secondary fermentation continue happily after bottling and priming ?
2. - I spent a few hours sanitising all my bottles on sunday, unfortunately i dont have a bottle tree yet, so shook out all the water i could and shelved them in my cupboard, should i re-sanitise tonight before bottling or should the bottles still be clean despite a little water left at the bottom of most of them (a few drips)
Cheers !
Coopers IPA ingredients question
Thanks again DaaB !
1) yes its been on the yeast for 10 days - will bottle with confidence now !
2) Thats no problem, unfortunately im using vwp which really should be rinsed so I'll give them another slosh with it and rinse a few times (originally i put about an inch in the bottom of each one and shook them for a short time to get the solution around the bottle then rinsed, i assume this is ok on already fairly clean bottles) - im just glad i wont be wasting my time cleaning them !

had to use the bath for it i'm afraid - just nowhere else to do it and no spare dustbin thats for sure lol
Got it bottled last night and it smelled fine : tasted a bit bitter but I think thats fairly normal at this stage.
After mining info and looking further into it, it does seem like the VWP is a double edged sword - pretty good at cleaning but expensive and demands a lot of rinsing (no joke when you've got 40 bottles to prepare)
I'm thinking i'll go with your much touted bleach or no rinse solution for my John Bull in the wings and see how that goes
Cheers again man
