Is it too late.

Hi all. i have bottled some geordie lager up a good week ago half in 2l pet and half in glass grolsh bottles. but the plastic bottles firmed up a bit but ar'nt rock solid, i have not opened any of the glass ones. i put half a level tea spoon of brewing sugar too ever 500mls ( so a 2l pet got 2 level teaspoons.) my question is if i open one and the lager seems flat can i add more sugar now or is it too late and will have to drink flat. cheers carl

i don't know if you can add more sugar at this stage.

have you given these bottles time in the warm?

I am about to bottle a youngs lager (had to give it a go) with the plan of at least a week in the warm before 3 weeks in the cold.

Personally I would give them a few more days in the warm, I tend to go for 10days minimum in a warm dark location before moving them to somewhere cool and dark to condition. I know the directions say otherwise but this seems to work a lot better IMHO. also the longer you leave the bottles the better its going to taste so try to drink the PET bottles first and give the glass bottles time to age you will really notice a difference, I was shocked the first time I let a brew age at how much better it had become in just a few short weeks (but it is hard to resist the temptation).
