We have decided that out 12g Hallertau of 15 min hops is, well a bit gay. So we are going to add 12g @ 15mins, but then add a further 15g at "flame out".

Well all seems well this morning hopefully. Bit of krausen, maybe 2cm.
Turned out a long evening again despite the feeling in advance it would be quicker! That said we wasted half an hour or so at the end with the FV in iced water trying to coax the temp down to 25c :x
Thanks vm to Ben - this wouldn't have been possible without his advice and equipment! :D

My head hurts a wee bit this morning (well a lot actually) and we have a guy in channelling wires into the wall with a kango which is very VERY loud indeed - I must have been very bad in a previous life!

Thanks very much for all the knowledge & encouragement chaps - thanks to Ian for a good evening...

Thanks guys, it all seems to be coming along nicely - krausen now in retreat after having spent yesterday afternoon/evening pushing against the lid.
Good work but watch the dodgy teapot poses

Must have been all those gay hallertauer hops

This was the actual recipe we used. I wanted to make a slightly stronger version of Blencathra Bitter, so reduced the length to 23l, and used slightly more MO and upped the IBU a bit from 28.
The OG was bang on predicted 1.042, so looks like we acheived 75% efficiency.
