It was a fantastic day - a real pleasure brewing on a larger scale and the best bit was the 'porridge machine' - mixing liquor and grist - this went very well, we miscalculated and established that grist flow needs reducing by 20% but I cannot see this having any impact on brew quality.
The wort looked fantastic, clear after recycling just a couple of liters and tasted good too according to bandit, I prefer to let the yeast loose first myself -I'm a bit old-fashioned that way.
Something new to me was Wort hopping, we put 200g of hops in the boiler before the wort. when a few liters of wort were added the aroma was better than something that smells really nice. and I believe this is the way forward.
Soon as I got home I couldn't stop myself from getting a HLT worth of liquor ready for a brew tomorrow - I'm gonna do something like the Tumbleabout that I had in Derby, mainly because I am supping the last bottle as I type (keyboards a right mess)
