i finally got the remainder of my order on monday after 6 weeks, although they sent a syphon clip instead of a bottle clip...

i e-mailed consumer direct and they rang me on monday and told me that if you have not received your order in 30 days, the contract is deemed canceled and you are entitled to your money back, they said to send a request for refund via recorded delivery.

i also pointed out to them, if you google easybrew, you find a website full of nothing but complaint about them....

they told me they are passing it on to trading standards. they havnt gone bump (yet) but they dont like answering the phone or replying to e-mails (even though the read receipt says they have read your email)

They should refund the difference, I suppose

easybrew problems

Post by BrewBob » Fri Jul 04, 2008 8:55 am

I am having problems with Easy Brew as well.

Made an order a week and a half ago for 2 items. They took the money from my account then sent me a message 2 days later to say that both items were out of stock.

I replied straight away asking them to remove one of the items from the order as I would get that somewhere else.

They have not responded to any of my messages. I am now emailing them daily asking them to cancel and refund my full order. Since they cannot even reply to an email I am looking for the quickest way out.

Easy Brew need to brush up on the Distance Selling Regulations.

Me too! I ordered a few kits and some other bits about 6 weeks ago. Total order came to approx £60!

I asked for an update after the order was delayed due to "not in stock". They did reply saying they would look into it, but then nothing. Last week I asked for a refund, but again nothing.

I'll get in touch with Trading Standards and ask for advise.

Same boat here, half an order (the cheap stuff) and then nothing! Won't answer the phone or e-mails, the only success I've had was the contacts page where you can leave messages. Bunch of robbing B!%$&rds. I wouldn't mind if they gave some type of reason other than 'out of stock'.

Hi all,
I was recommended Easybrew by a friend of mine a few months back so one Saturday in early May or late April I drove over there (I live in Poole & they're in Ringwood - just up the road) & bought some kit which I've been using. I was impressed with the help I got (and free sample beers to take home to drink) & had plans to get all my kits from there. I even recommended them to a mate of mine.

So about 3 weeks ago I decided to head over there to get some more bits - again on a Saturday. When I arrived the place was shut despite the opening hours claiming it was open. 'Odd', I thought. Tried calling & the message said they'd be back in on the Monday - I guessed they were on holiday. The next weekend I called at 9.30am & just got the answerphone saying they'd be open from 10am. So I drove over there with my mate (who is now keen on brewing) to get him some kit & once again it's shut (at 11am on a Saturday). Home we went & I got him online ordering kit.

Nothing arrives. Can't get in touch. etc etc. Eventually he gets through & they tell him some stuff is out of stock for several weeks but some of it is in stock & he adjusts his order only for the stuff they have - ordering the other kit from elsewhere (which came through in a day or two). Surprise, surprise - nothing turns up. This was 2 weeks ago & much the same they don't respond to email or phone calls. I believe he's planning to cancel the order (somehow) & get it from the other place.

In conclusion: Easybrew were good - or I was very lucky - but have gone down the pan.

Instead of throwing your money away down in ringwood you really should be going to some proper retailers like Hop and Grape or Brewgenie.com.
If find that these two have everything I need between them and offer fast service. (and no I'm not on commission!).

i would recomend everyone who is having problems with easybrew contact consumer direct. if you don't make a stand they will just keep getting away with it (being it £10, £100 or whatever). you have rights, use them.

it looks like there is a brew genie in shrewsbury which isnt that far, so might take a run out this afternoon...local homebrew shop is on potters holiday so can't get much locally at min.

I'm not a big fan of that woman in brewgenie, she knows jack about brewing beer and has one cocky attitude but it sounds a lot better than easybrew!
