Re-priming

The way I like to see it is that since this is my first brew, the fact that I'm making loads of mistakes must mean I'll be that much better at my second brew. Surely?!

Anyway, I transferred my keg after 4 days at 20C+ to a cooler place, but as I did so I noticed that gas was escaping from the keg. I had noticed this during cleaning, too, and it seems that my keg leaks a little if the lid is on too tight (because the thread is not quite right at the end, so if overtightened it actually loosens!). So, I had a think about it and realized that I don't want flat beer...

... so I re-primed it. I sterilized a pyrex jug, added 20tsp of caster sugar and about 1/2pt of boiling water and stirred it all in well. Then I cooled the liquid in a bowl of cold water and added it to the keg as delicately as I could. I then closed the keg as effectively as possible, I think.

As it happens the last two days here have been oppressively hot so the beer's probably been at about 25C. Also, the beer will have been roused somewhat by me moving the keg anyway, so is there a chance this will work?

Misread post!

Is the thread on the lid itself broke, or is it the thread on the barrel?
