Just finishing the adjusted Riggwelter recipe as discussed here viewtopic.php?t=14784

The recipe I ended up using (due to ordering the wrong grain and I also left out the 1 gram of Roasted Barley) was:

4.28 kg Maris Otter
0.55 kg Wheat Malt (instead of Torrified Wheat)
0.37 kg Crystal Malt
0.30 kg Chocolate Malt
0.61 kg Brewing Sugar
26g Fuggles (90 min)
27g Challenger (90 min)
27g Progress (90 min)
10g Goldings (15min)
10g Irish Moss (15 min)
Safale S-04

1 Hour mash at 66c
90 min boil

Just finishing the boil now. Pictures will follow.

What effect would the 1 gram of roasted barley have had :?:

Precisely why I left it out :D

Just finished. Everything went smoothly, although I nearly forgot to add the sugar. Ended up with slightly more in the FV than intended. Was aiming for 23 litres but ended up with about 25. Never mind, more to drink. :D

Will post pics later.

It's not the first time that 1g of Roast Barley has come up on Jim's and I reckon it won't be the last

Great photos and hope the finished beer tastes as good as the runnings into the FV look
