I think there are baduns everywhere - Black Isle Yellowhammer (4.0%) was average but Bartram's Egalitarian Anti-Imperialistic Soviet Stout (6.9%) was good and Spectrum's Old Stoatwobbler (6.0%) was nice too. I probably wouldn't have picked them if I knew they were on that bar but I was going by the tasting notes pages. My favourite was Bushy's Oyster Stout (4.2%), lovely and creamy. Also introduced myself to American IPA with one from Great Divide called Titan (6.8%). Not sure if this style is for me just yet. It felt like hops were exploding in my sinuses.ashbyp wrote:also don't bother with bar unusual

I agree about Yellowhammer. I was at the brewery about 2 weeks back and bought a range of beers. IMHO all qualified as ok but mediocre, i honestly expected more from them. Thier stout/porter was very neutral to my taste. Anyway that's me 2p. Woman working in the shop on the Sunday was really nice but couldn't sell me any grain or hops as she did not know where stored.....You've got to ask.
