mmmm, what to do....

i stumble across them every time i raid the freezer for something to eat. they've always been there, well, as far back as i can remember, or at least since my second previous order from the hbs... so up to a year ago.

they seem to have lost their purpose in life, a lonely, unlabled packet, that could contain anything, but most likely, hops, tucked away at the back of the freezer.

i dunno what variety they are, at a push i would say cascade or styrian goldings, but even then i could be wrong.

so, i could just toss them, but then that would be a waste. there's about a 100 grams, so do you think i should just try brewing up an ale with just these for copper and late hops, and pray to god that it isnt the most amazing beer in the world, since i wouldnt be able to recreate it, as i dont even know what they are, let alone the alpha acid content.

any suggestions?

I would probably throw them in a minute before the end of the boil as aroma hops... that way you don't risk over-bittering by not knowing how strong they are.

Or you could save them for a leftovers batch, with all the crystal and whatnot that gets leftover.

Or you could check the freezer again, chances are the label is in there somewhere, maybe attatched to another pkg?

nope, no sign of the label anywhere. :x

think i might decant some of my light ale into a demijohn and dry hop with some of these, that way i could probably tell from there what they are, or at least get a good idea. i'll see what happens.
