A nice simple bitter - probably along the line of Horden Hillbillys recipe. Not going to think about water treatments (other than a camden tablet) or PH's yet until ive got a few brews under my belt

As someone who is only five brews in, I'm completely hooked. I wonder how to improve I read stuff, listen to stuff and ask questions here of the excellent folk on JBK. My wife says I'm obsessed and that she has been indulging me - she probably doesn't know the half of it!
Just to get all psychological on you, when I'm brewing I enter the state known as 'flow' Google Csíkszentmihályi' or just look at this flow where time does not seem to matter, where the work is a challenge but you do it to get to the next thing. As someone who has studied this phenomenon, The last place I expected to find it was 'nerdy' home brewing.

Well done. =D>

Many have gone and put together a 5 gallon brewery only to find out that what they wanted was a 10 gallon (perhaps it was just me  ). To go for the 10g straight away is a very good move. :D

That sounds familiar!

I've been in the Phillipines all week (still here) and am having withdrawal symptoms. It's worrying that I want to get home to see my wife, kids, dog and beers - ad not neccesarily in that order!

I'm sitting in a Manila hotel room right now - waiting for my flight and planning a recipe to get a brew on on Sunday..... (and I've got four brews at various stages of fermenting/conditioning already)

I think I'm going to do an IPA....
