Anyone suggest a way ofadding a false bottom to a boiler? At the moment I'm using a basic 30l plastic bin with kettle element and nylon tap. I get good hot and cold breaks, but last week when brewing a batch I just could not get the trub to settle, it just sat at about 2/3 of the volume - beautiful clear wort on top, cotton wool crud below it. Will a basic copper filter pipe fitted to the tap do the job or is there another better way to do this?
I was wondering if a fit a copper pipe filter to the tap and then free boil hops rather than contain them in the muslin bag if i would get a filter effect.
