Keg to bottle, is this possible??

How do chaps!

From title sounds like a proper dumbass question, which i guess it might turn out to be but im a newbie so bare with me !

Right..... ive got a Coopers stout on the go which will shortly be going in a top tap keg for conditioning and drinking.

Ive got other stuff on the go as well and so it may be in the keg quite some time before its finished. I was thinking......(yes it hurt) rather than moving my keg and risking oxidisation, if i wanted to take some to a mates house could i attach my little bottle via a short hose to the keg and bottle some into 2 litre pet bottles or is this not wise for some reason? Or even remove the top and siphon some off maybe? Just by typing this i feel like maybe im suggesting some sort of cardinal brewing sin, but i havent a clue????

Am i better off putting some in bottles prior to kegging if I already know i am going to want to transport some?

Any advice gratefully received, i havent a f**ing clue what im doin, but im enjoyin myself !!

cheers

:D

Yep, keg to bottle to friends is perfectly viable, done it myself several times. As long as it's getting drunk the same day it will be fine.

In my own experience / opinion, Ollie; Enjoying yeself is far more important than having a clue. Clues come to those who just enjoy the trip

Personally? I have a gallon - god alone knows what that is in Litres - 'Spring Water' bottle. I just fill that up, straight from the kegs tap, for a " Lads Night In " round my mates place. Good film. Good company. Excellent stout. Job done.
