Is 14 days in FV okay?

I have read that some people recommend leaving the brew in the FV for 10 days, even it's already down to the expected SG; but will 14 days be too long? I'm a bit pushed for time until then, but don't mind waiting if it won't do any harm (I can always make time if it's necessary).

Another question - what's 2-row barley? Just curious...

If you need to then 14 days won't do it any harm at all, go for it.

Often leave my brew in FV for fortnight or so. Time equally at a premium. Could shift it to a cooler place to be doubly safe.

I left mine for 2 weeks and once bottled the beer stayed flat. Read it is due to not enough sufficient viable yeast once I had bottled it.

To be honest every time I do Woodfordes Wherry I leave it for 14 days in the FV not sure why just seems to happen that way. Find I never have any problems and carbonates fine, a part from the one time I used finings but thats another story #-o. I have heard it an give your beer a more yeasty taste but i've never noticed the diffrence, hell on 20 fags a day I can't even taste the homebrew tang, who says smoking has a detrimental effect to your taste buds :?
