Using Beer Finings

Post by bluewire » Fri Apr 17, 2009 5:18 pm

Is this something that is easy to do?

I have a sachet but am confused as to what to do, how long to leave and if I will still get a good second fermentation when in the bottles.

Any help for a novice

i have youngs brew finings (bright orange pack) and it says ''add to beer after fermentation then stir gently and leave to stand for 2 days before bottling or barrelling.allow 2-3 weeks for carbonation.'' so i expect you add it when you get the right gravity reading, stir gently and leave for at least 2 days or a few weeks.

nice 1 chris...i think ill use mcewans champion export...as its 7.3%ABV and a normal bottle sold in supermarkets is only £1.79 in tesco.plus its got a nice flavour...quite a flamegrilled aftertaste.
