Re: Spraymalt?
Think i've killed it,after a lively day yesterday, had a look this morning it's as flat as a fluke, any one know if this is the norm? begining to think it was to warm

Re: Spraymalt?
Its quite normal for the manic initial eruption to die down on subsequent days.
Re: Spraymalt?
Thanks kev, have just taken reading its at 1.010 is this norm after 2days?,think i might stick with my trusty edme stout in future.
Re: Spraymalt?
Looking at your pics Mr Bird, I would say that you might have got off quite lightly, I think the yeast head as now settled back, but that 1010 reading does seem a bit quick? Although I think that the last few points can take the longest? does it smell good, I always look at these pics people put up of their Ditch's Stout, and wonder what it smells like? are you barreling, or bottling?

Re: Spraymalt?
Does seem a bit quick doesn't it, strange brew all round me thinks, it smells sweet, and i'm bottleing it if it ever wakes up

Re: Spraymalt?
Got mine on, but un~like you, I've had to use brewing sugar, couldn't find time this weekend to get the spaymalt, but I was getting desperate for a beer to be ready to drink, but I shall do it that way next time, I think you just need to leave it there for a few more days, then prime and bottle it, I will be setting mine in the pressure barrel!

Re: Spraymalt?
Thanks Lol, will do as you advise and give it a couple of days, would hate to have a fail though, let us know how you get on with the barrel
